About
I design learning strategy that solves real business problems, especially for the people doing the work every day.

My career started in a high school classroom, where I learned that great teaching isn't about what you know - it's about understanding why people struggle and what they actually need to succeed. That insight shaped everything that followed.

Over the past decade in corporate learning and development, I've built programs across healthcare, customer experience, and operations that reduce time-to-competency, improve performance, and drive measurable business results. But what really drives me is a question most L&D professionals don't ask enough: Why do performance gaps persist even after good training?

That question leads me to look beyond course design to the systems, processes, and organizational factors that actually determine whether learning sticks. I combine instructional design with performance consulting and business strategy because the best learning solutions often aren't training at all.

I'm currently building expertise in organizational development and learning analytics to better serve organizations navigating complexity, growth, and change.

Outside of work, I'm mom to Annabelle, my endlessly curious travel companion. Our family explores Chicago museums, take weekend road trips, and plan the next big adventure. I'm fueled by good coffee, great wine, and the belief that curiosity makes everything better.

How I work
I partner with organizations to diagnose performance challenges and design solutions that work for both the business and the people behind it. That means:

-
Starting with diagnosis, not solutions: Understanding root causes before jumping to training
-
Measuring what matters: Focusing on business impact, not just completion rates
-
Designing for reality: Creating learning that fits how people actually work
-
Iterating and improving: Using data to continuously refine what's working

My approach combines instructional design, strategic thinking, and business acumen. The goal is always the same: practical solutions that drive real results.
What I'm Exploring Now
I'm deepening my expertise in performance consulting and organizational development—moving beyond "what training do we need?" to "why isn't performance where it should be?"

Current focus areas:

Performance gaps and root cause analysis. I'm fascinated by why well-designed training often doesn't translate to improved performance. I'm building frameworks to diagnose these issues before jumping to training solutions.

Learning effectiveness measurement. Moving past completion rates and satisfaction scores to understand what actually drives business results. I'm exploring how to connect learning investments to measurable outcomes without drowning in data that doesn't matter.

Quality at scale. How do you maintain learning quality while growing fast? This tension shows up everywhere and I'm studying what separates organizations that handle it well from those that don't.

The shift from ID to strategist. I'm actively building the skills that bridge tactical instructional design with strategic business consulting: stakeholder influence, executive communication, organizational systems thinking, and change management.

If these questions interest you too, let's connect. I'm always up for conversations with people wrestling with similar challenges.
